Let It Ride

Let ‘em Ride Tips and Strategy 2024

Let ‘em Ride, sometimes called Let Them Ride or Let It Ride, is one of the most popular casino table games around the world. Online, it can be played at most quality casinos. Among those we recommend are Bovada.lv and PartyCasino.

All of these have great versions of Let ‘em Ride, which can be played for free or for real money.

Let ‘em Ride is basically a five-card poker game played against the house. In order to win, you must have a pair of 10’s or better, otherwise the house wins all bets.

The game starts with an ante bet. This is a bet before you get any cards and will be the basis on which you make any further bets. In brick and mortar casinos you are often required to place 3 bets up front.

Then as you are given more information about your hand, you may take back 2 of your bets or, “Let ‘em Ride”. This is where the name of the game comes from.

Online however, most casinos just start with one bet and build up rather than down. It does not make a difference either way as long as you know the rules of the game.

Once you make your ante bet, you are dealt three cards face up and two more community cards are placed in the middle of the table face down. The community cards are used by everyone if playing multi-hand Let ‘em Ride, otherwise, they are just used by you, as the dealer does not play a hand.

Once you see your first three cards, you have the decision to continue without raising or to raise, which is one bet equal to your ante. Whichever you choose, one card is then turned face up in the middle. With more information about your hand you have the same choice again. Raise or continue without raising.

Then the last card is turned over and the final determination is made on whether you have a winning hand or not. Again, to win, you need a pair of 10’s or better. Anything else is a losing hand and the house takes any and all bets made on the hand.

Obviously the best thing that can happen is to make a winning hand before seeing the turn card so you can raise each street. This is pretty rare unfortunately, but when it happens make sure you take advantage.

The best strategy for Let ‘em Ride is pretty straightforward. Always raise if you have a made hand of tens or better. If you have 3 cards to a Straight Flush you should make a raise as long as there is not more than a one card gap, and the highest card is a ten or better. For instance, you should raise 7, 9, 10 of hearts, but not 5, 6, 8 of hearts.

However, even if the cards are lower you should raise them if they are suited connectors, except A, 2, 3 and 2, 3, 4 of one suit. Any three cards that can make a Royal Straight Flush should be raised.

Once you see the turn card you need to make a final decision. Regardless of what you did previously, you can either raise or continue now.

If you now have a four-flush, (four cards of the same suit) then you should raise. If you have an open ended four card straight you should also raise, whether suited or not.

If you have an inside straight draw you should raise if all of your cards are better than 10. An example of this is if you had T, Q, K, A of different suits. This should still be raised since you could make a straight or a pair and still win. Of course, any pair of tens or better should be raised on the turn.

Payouts are based on your made hand. Pairs of tens or better are paid out 1 to 1 while 2 pair are paid 2 to 1. Three of a Kind is paid 3 to 1, a Straight is paid 5 to 1 and a Flush is paid 8 to 1. If you are lucky enough to make a Full House, you are paid 11 to 1. The big money comes when you make Four of a Kind or better.

Four of a Kind is paid handsomely at 50 to 1. A Straight Flush will receive 200 to 1 on their bet and those making a Royal Straight Flush while playing Let ‘em Ride will be paid 1000 to 1 on any bets.

On top of this, most casinos offer a progressive jackpot on their Let ‘em Ride games. For an additional bet you can take part in the jackpot. Just be sure to click on the progressive slot or button before placing any bets.

The progressive jackpot begins paying out on a Flush or better. A Flush pays $75 from the jackpot, no matter the size of your bet. If you make a Full House, you are paid $100 on top of any winnings from the hand and Four of a Kind is paid $500.

Straight Flushes are paid 10% of the progressive jackpot and the best possible hand, a Royal Straight Flush is paid 100% of the jackpot. These progressive jackpots are usually tens of thousands of dollars and will often get over a hundred grand!

Not all online casinos will use the exact same pay table, so be sure to check before starting play. This pay schedule is from Rushmore Casino, a highly recommended online casino offering Let ‘em Ride, and is going to be very comparable to almost all internet casinos.
